I AM THE MEDICINE (IATM) is a multi-disciplinary institute dedicated to the sciences, humanitarianism, and spirituality. This integrative approach encourages the capacity of individuals and groups to transform into greater ecology, creativity, and higher functioning.
As a kinship of diverse creative minds, we share the common threads of nature and embodiment as practices for listening, leadership and life resiliency.
While leadership historically has engendered the need for a sense of empowerment, the new leadership of tomorrow will also ask us to challenge our sense of love, and the need to work together in a new way. We believe when Science and Spirit meet Nature and Rhythm, harmony links the generative unfolding of self and community in these new and vibrant ways.
IATM is steeped in science and rhythmic functions of the body to master our lives and be in co-mastery with others. Generation of new neural networks dynamically energizes new fractal life patterns. What evolves is healing, higher purpose, and life direction yielding natural forward momentum.
Movement, touch, dialogue, narrative and nutrition are the therapeutic tools of the process; rhythms in the craniosacral, visceral, fascia, and Chinese medicine systems are the foundation. These combined self-defining, self organizing principles illuminate the higher intelligence within.
Our Belief: Resilient expansion arises from enhancing connections within multiple systems – rhythmic biological cycles, embodied seasonal cycles, and collective cycles. In fortifying the emergent quality of these cycles, sustainable growth and ease become a way of life. New leadership will strive to understand these cycles. New leadership will know that what appears in cycles as opposing forces – biology and spirit, feminine and masculine – is better perceived as a need for both Power and Love, for joining the forces of Self-Mastery and Co-Mastery.

I AM THE MEDICINE: The Practice of Emergence
Leaders are proactively in charge of their own lives, and lead the charge to actively influence the lives of others. This leadership exists fundamentally on three levels of systems: self, family and work. As leaders move from control to emergence, they direct conscious intention into the system, until the point where the system’s cultivated intelligence directs intention back. This is what we call the “Practice of Emergence.”
Imagine you are the gourmet chef cooking a hearty soup of complex flavors. You are the one who plans, shops, preps, measures, chops, slices, dices, stirs, and adjusts. But the soup’s ingredients create their own complexity. Given the right intention, the ingredients create plentiful pleasure, vitality, sharing, and satisfaction. Your job is the conscious set up, and the emergence is the unfolding of creativity.
These emergent transformational cycles we help individuals and companies recalibrate, realign, and reverse disease and dis-ease AND improve emotional and mental equilibrium, at home, and in the corporate setting.
Resiliency emerges when we join forces that appear as opposing: Biology and Spirit.
For the leader, Biology is the time-conscious force of aliveness. It begs the question, “at the end of your life, did you accomplish what you wanted?” It acknowledges the material, the sensory and sensual, the need for pleasure, and for the progress of life achievement for self, family, and vocation. When we are in pain, our biology informs us to action, and when we are in balance, its ease sustains our freedom.
For the leader, Spirit is the timeless force of inner knowingness. It feeds presence and a sense of purpose. Here, you develop the ability to trust the guidance of the inner senses – what you see, hear and feel – to know when to take action, and when to surrender, and how.
These two forces meet in what is typically called the “felt-sense.” Here, you learn to follow what is not seen, but felt. The leader knows the invisible and visible worlds meet here. Leaders develop the ability to “Trust What You Feel In Order To Know.” Trust and knowingness align you to greater self-expansion.

Biological Guiding Principles of Courses recognize biology as a self-organizing homeostatic and emergent system. Therefore, fundamental root systems at the Institute reflect these self-organizing principles: Craniosacral system, Visceral System, Somatics and Chinese Medicine. Restoration of natural rhythmic functions in the body heals chronic and acute conditions. Our institute can help individuals and companies recalibrate, realign, reprogram and reverse disease and dis-ease in the corporate setting AND improve emotional and mental equilibrium.
Spiritual Guiding Principles of Courses recognize that the sage wisdom of Eastern cultures rhythmically weave together the body, psyche, emotions and spirit. An extensive history of repeated verification, confirmation and applied experience show us how these systems reflect nature’s cycles, and how they timelessly interact with and guide body and mind. We can let go of the constant broad search for “the next new thing” and instead we can go deep within time-tested teachings to find that our health and relationships can actually improve as we age. Yes, we can indeed get better and wiser with time.
